Eino Leino Prize

The Eino Leino Society presents its award to a writer either for a particularly valuable work or for highly regarded publishing activity. The scope of the prize embraces domestic literature and literary research, although poetry is its main focus.

The prize is awarded no more than once a year, but in any event at least once in five years. A writer may receive the prize only once.

The Eino Leino Prize is in the sum of 5,200 euros and includes a diploma and a medal designed by Lauri Leppänen. The Finnish Book Foundation has donated the award sum since 1995.
