The Finnish Book Foundation was established in 1983 by the Finnish Book Publishers Association and the Ministry of Education, with the purpose of fostering and supporting domestic book and word art. Literary Prizes awarded by the Finnish Book Foundation - Finlandia Prize since 1984 . Tieto-Finlandia Prize since 1989

The Pikku-Finlandia Prize has been awarded since 1984. The prize consists of an award sum of 550 euros and copies of the candidate books for the Finlandia Prize. Annual awards funded by the Finnish Book Foundation - Eino Leino Prize, awarded by the Eino Leino Society
- Mikael Agricola Prize, awarded in recognition of distinguished work by a translator, in cooperation with the Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters
- Alvar Renqvist Prize, for distinguished work by a publishing editor.
- The Foundation also awarded the Topelius Prize and the Rudolf Koivu Prize from 1986-1996.
